The New frontier & the Great Society
Major Changes
- Citizens of the lower class have a new ally. Due to the new polices put into effect by both the New Frontier and the Great Society, many less economically stable families are able to climb to new levels on the social ladder.
- "Telegenics" becomes a huge part of the electoral system. With the invention of TV, people are now able to watch the Presidential debates. As seen with the election of JFK, many Americans of the time seem to favor looks over words when voting at the polls.
- Fear strikes not just the U.S., but the world. Due to the Cuban Missile Crisis, there world was the closest it had ever been to all-out nuclear war which frightened just about everyone.
- Rights of the accused are extended. Thanks to the efforts of the Liberal Warren Courts, many precedents are set which grant more rights to people being accused of a crime.

prosperity for all
core american values |
- Patriotism: During the cold war, people in the U.S. were scared. It was a frightening time, knowing that your country is literally on the brink of war kept many people up at night. This caused many people to really support the government. Public Opinion during Kennedy's Presidency shot up because people just wanted the fear to go away and Kennedy promised that he would make it.
- Economic Help: President LBJ's Great Society is one of the biggest wars on poverty ever launched in the U.S. Through his policies, LBJ was able to provide economic support to thousands of impoverished citizens. He also funded new schooling programs.
- Hope: President Johnson really fired up many less economically stable families in the U.S. He made them hopeful because he proved that America's government had not forgotten about the poor.
